John Evans, PMP
President
John has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years beginning his career in the scaffolding industry in Toronto, Canada in 1987.
John has specialized in Project Management in both Canada and the US in various Industrial market segments including petrochemical, offshore, pulp and paper, and shipbuilding. UBS Canada was launched in 2012, with John overseeing all aspects of the business as President since its inception.
Chris Patey
Senior Project Executive (Canada and US)
Chris has called Fort McMurray home since 2007 when he started working in the oil sands as a Coordinator and Planner for an international scaffold company. After spending 3 years in key roles within both Maintenance and Turnaround departments, Chris joined UBS Canada in 2012. Since that time, Chris has been vital in the growth of the company, assuming increased responsibilities and now leading the overall planning, coordination, and safe execution of our projects at UBS Canada. His dedication to safe performance and strong customer service exemplifies our core values at UBS and are why our customers trust us with some of their most challenging projects.
Crystal Johnston
QHSE Lead
After completing her certificate in Business Administration, Crystal focused her career in the QAQC aspect of industrial construction with an international EPC organization since 1998. Crystal joined the UBS Canada team in 2018 as the QHSE Lead and currently oversees all of the QA and EHS activities within the company. Crystal holds a CWB Level III Welding Inspection designation with 2 code endorsements and 3 auditing lead course certificates for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001.
Liam Evans
Operations Coordinator
Liam joined the UBS Canada team in May 2014 as a Labourer in the field, gradually moving into document control and execution support in 2016. During the last 4 years, Liam has spent time learning the workings of numerous departments of the business and now supports the overall operations of the company as the Operations Coordinator. Liam has lived in Fort McMurray for the past 11 years, and is proud to call this community home.
Crystal Zimmermann, BBA, PCP
Administration Manager
Crystal joined UBS Canada in January 2020 and has brought with her a wide variety of business knowledge. Crystal has her BBA in Management, Business Administration Diploma in Accounting, Certificate in Human Resource Management, and is a Payroll Compliance Practitioner. She has lived in Fort McMurray for 14 years and has worked in a variety of industries including oil and gas, non-profit, banking and transportation.
Mary Weston, P.Eng.
Project Manager
Mary has lived in Fort McMurray for the past ten years, working in the construction industry. She began her career as a Project Coordinator, eventually becoming Engineering Manager of a large company’s Mining Division. In 2021, Mary joined UBS Canada as Project Manager. Her extensive experience in estimating, planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing projects will ensure that UBS clients continue to receive unsurpassed service. Under Mary’s stewardship, UBS will strive to deliver every project on time, on budget and, above all, with a maximum commitment to safety.
Chris Evans, P.Eng.
Chairman
Chris has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years, beginning his career with Aluma Systems in 1989 before joining UBS in 2000. He oversees the daily operations of the company and is involved with corporate, field, and yard operations. Chris holds degrees from the University of British Columbia and Columbia University, and is a registered Professional Engineer.
